Hi, I am Pamela Ellgen. The recipes on Modern Family Table are gluten-free and dairy-free, and most are also vegan or vegetarian. I started the blog in 2011 when I was working on my first cookbook, Modern Family Table. Since then, I've written 10 more cookbooks, some of which went on to become Amazon bestsellers. My husband is a longtime vegetarian. I enjoy a gluten-free and mostly plant-based diet with the occasional indulgence of braised beef short ribs or pan-seared wild salmon. Our kids would eat nothing more than peanut butter and jelly and mac 'n' cheese if we let them. Somewhere in the midst of it all, we find meals that our whole family can enjoy.

When I'm not immersed in food writing, photography, cooking, or menu planning, I enjoy surfing and building sand castles on the beach with my kids.
